JRS Singapore celebrated a milestone this 2020 when we were officially granted charity status. JRS in Singapore started off as a group of volunteers who were moved to action by the Vietnamese refugee exodus and later by the East Timor crisis. We continued our outreach to refugee communities at the Thai border, in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal and Bangladesh.

In 2017, we were registered as Jesuit Refugee Service (Singapore) Ltd and officially granted Charity status in August 2020. We continue to serve refugee communities in the Asia Pacific Region. We are really grateful for our team of volunteers and benefactors who have supported JRS and continue to put their trust in us.

To celebrate our two milestones in 2020, JRS Singapore volunteers came together on Zoom for a walk down memory lane. Many of our volunteers reminisced about their experiences and encounters during their JRS journey.
